1)Revision
Ask two students to the front to write the answers on the Bb.

Find out how much the students know about the central plains of America.
(3) Scanning
Ask the students to go through the whole passage very fast to get the general idea of the lesson. 1. The settlers killed them, forced them to leave their hunting grounds, broke agreements which they had made, froced them onto poor land, and killed most of the bison on which Native Americans had relied for food.
