IV. Teaching steps:
1. Warming up:
1. play some famous music, let Ss try to guess what is the song called?
2. T ask: Do you like music? What kinds of music do you like? Could you tell me the name of the song and who the singer is?
3. let Ss work in pairs, and write down all the music styles.
(jazz, rock music, blues, country music, hip-hop, rap, pop music, folk music, jungle(丛林音乐), funk(早期爵士乐), disco)
4. let Ss discuss some questions:
Which piece of music do you like best? Why?
What you makes you think this music comes from?
Can you guess what the songs are about?
Could you sing a song for us?
5. Pairswork: discuss the following questions:
What’s your favourite music? Why?
Who is your favourite band? Singer? Guitarist(吉他手)?
If you were in a band what should its name be?
What kind of music would you play?
Would you be the singer/ guitarist/ keyboard player (键盘手)/ drummer (鼓手)?why.
II. Listening
Let Ss listen to the three songs on the tape and finish the exercises on the book.
Check the answer in the class.

III Speaking
1. Pairswork: let Ss work together and make a similar dialogue about asking for or giving advice.
