Teaching Procedure
Step 1 Revision
1. Revise the days of the week.
2. Revise the dialogue in Lesson 87, Part One.
Step 2 Spelling and pronunciation
1. Show the phonetic symbol cards.

2. Play the tape for the students to listen and repeat. Explain the pronunciation of the letter “y” and the forming letters “ay, ey, oy”.
Step 3 Word stress
Play the tape for the students to listen and repeat. Use gestures to show the stress.
Step 4 Stress and intonation
Play the tape for Part Three. Show the intonation with a gesture. Play it again and get students to repeat, showing the intonation with gestures.
Step 5 Read
1. Teach the new words and phrases, e. g. model, maths, all, part, rest, have a rest, from… to…, work hard, etc.
2. Have students skim the passage in Part Four for the main idea. Tell the students the way to find the main idea.
3. Play the tape and have the students read along silently. Then read aloud.
4. Read again and answer the questions in the Workbook exercise 3.
Step 6 Checkpoint
Go over the checkpoint. Learn the verb have and the useful expressions carefully.
