教学步骤:
Step 1 Revision
Revise the names of the food and tableware in Lesson 57
通过图片或让学生叙述他们家里厨房里有什么食品进行复习;
或让学生谈论自己最喜爱的食品。
What’s your favourite food?
Do you like cabbage/carrots/…?
Step 2 Presentation
教师询问几位学生他们最喜欢吃的蔬菜和水果,并按顺序,把他们的名字和食品列在黑板上,然后问全班学生:
Which does Ann like better, apple or orange?
Which does she like best? Etc.
并让学生具体表达出每个人对各种食品喜爱的情况:
Li Lei likes pork better. He likes meat best.
Lucy’s favourite food is orange.
… …
Step 3 Pre-read
上课前教师先准备一些关于fast food的资料,让学生了解fast food为什么会受欢迎,Why is fast food so popular in the world? In America? In China? 可以让学生联系他们喜欢的麦当劳Mcdonald和肯德基KFC来理解。
然后把学生分成小组讨论教材中的三个问题。
Step 4 Reading
First, have the students look at the picture. Say out the names of the food. And what countries do these foods come from?
Get the class to listen to the tape. Ask What’s the most popular food in the world? (American food) 教师在这个环节可利用视频Lesson58 Favourite Food进行多媒体教学。
Explain the food: fish and chips.
Explain the language points:
kinds of, seem, even, on the road (one eats the food while in their cars, or while going someplace in the subway or on a bus)
Play the tape again.(或教师可利用动画课件:favourite food,再演示一遍文章,然后让学生完成课件中的练习。)And ask the questions:
1. —Have each country got its favourite food?
2. —Do Italians like eating pizzas?
3. —Do they like hot food?
4. —What about Japanese? What do they like to eat?
5. Do you like fish/pizza/hamburgers? What’s your favourite Chinese food?
Step 5 Ask and answer

Let students discuss:
Is chocolate good for your health? What about ice cream?
然后针对现在的小孩喜欢上KFC和Mcdonald展开讨论:
How often do you eat it? Is it good for your health?
What do you think of the food you usually eat? Is it healthy or unhealthy?
e.g Do you think fried chicken leg is very popular in China?
Yes, I think so. /No, I don’t think so.
Hamburger is good for your health. Do you agree?
Yes, I agree. /No, I don’t really agree.
Explain the difference between I don’t really agree and I really don’t agree.
I don’t really agree表示自己只是有点不同意,但可以听取别人的意见,然后可以改变自己原来的意见。I really don’t agree 表示自己完全不同意别人,而且没什么能改换原来的年看法。
播放视频:谈论各国喜爱的食品,让学生根据课文favourite food谈论各国最喜爱的食品,练习表示同意或不同意的交际用语。
Get the students to ask each other the questions using different food words.
Step 6 Exercises in class
