Lesson 64教案示例

  Teaching Objectives:

  1.掌握问路的几种不同表达方法;

  2.掌握may and can.表示可能性的用法。

  Language Focus:

  Properties: Tape-recorder, Overhead projector

  Teaching Procedures:

  Step 1 Revision

  1.Practise asking permission.

  May I go out now?

  Can I have a seat here?

  May I have your name, please?

  He may know about that.

  That can be dangerous.

  It may be in his pocket.

  2. Revise I can’t find my ! It may be

  可利用教室中的实物,把它们藏起来,让学生来猜测。

  A: I can’t find my pen!

  B: It may be on the floor.

  A: No, it isn’t

  B: It may be in your desk.

  

  Step 2 Listening

  Play the tape for the students, and get them to guess the meaning of the passage. Then play the tape again. Have the students do the exercises in the workbook.

  Step 3 Presentation

  Draw a picture about a girl who is in a hurry.

  Get the students to imagine what happens to the girl. Give them one minute to prepare for it.

  A: Excuse me. Where is the toilet?

  B: Sorry. Ask that schoolgirl. She may know.

  A: Excuse me. Is there a toilet near here?

  C: I’m not sure. D may know.

  

  Ask the students to work in pairs asking and answering.

  Step 4 Read and draw

  Get the students to read the dialogue. Draw a map showing where B’s home is on the blackboard.

  Then the students practise in pairs. Get one of the students to give directions and draw a little map.

  Have the students to change the dialogue according to their home.

  Step 5 Writing

  Have the students write a dialogue about how to get somewhere that is on the map on page 6.

  A: Excuse me. Can you please tell us where the college is?

  B: Go along this road. Take the turning on the left/right.

  Step 6 Reading

  Play the tape for the students to listen. Ask Why did Mrs. Lee have to return to the restaurant?

  Explain the language points:

  Step 8 Homework

  1. Give a short summary about Unit 16 and write it out in the exercise books.

  2.You can tell the class to write a short passage about asking directions.

  3. Go over checkpoint of this unit.

  4. Finish exercises of Unit 16 on page 70, page 72. Finish off the workbook exercises.
