Step 1 师生合作,复习导入
复习肯定与不肯定的功能项目 I’m sure --- I’m not sure what to --- I’m not sure if---
Chanting with the students like this:
T: Suppose next week is Mother’s Day. I’m sure you’ll buy a present for your mother.
S: Yes, but I’m not sure what to buy..
T: I’m sure she will like some flowers
S: I’m not sure if she will like them.
T: I’m sure she will like a blouse.
But are you sure what size to buy ? (Teach size )
S: No, I’m not sure what size to buy .
T: Are you sure what color she likes?
S: I’m not sure what color she likes etc.
Step 2 Puzzle dialogue
SB Part 1的处理
Read through the sentences with the students.
Have them guess the meaning of almost.
In pairs, have the students practice the dialogue and act it out, The answers are: 1 C , 2 E, 3 A, 4 F, 5 D, 6 B..
SB Part 2 的处理
1板书呈现:joke=funny story Say I like to hear jokes, Do you know jokes? A joke means a funny story. Have you read any jokes? Let the students tell some short jokes either in English or in Chinese for the class.
2.板书呈现:Mark Twain and play jokes on sb, Say there was a famous man who often play jokes on his friends. His name is Mark Twain. Do you know something about him? Help some volunteers to tell the whole class, such as:
He is a man from America.
He is a great writer.
He is also a famous speaker.
His famous books are ---,etc.
3.Say today we are going to learn another joke played by Mark Twain.
a) Listen and answer who did Mark Twain play a joke on?
b) Read the passage again and answer “right” or “wrong” on page 113.
c) Play the tape and have the students listen and repeat Then answer how many tickets did Mark Twain really buy.
d) Learn useful words & expressions.
SB Part 3 的处理
1.Get the students to work in pairs to complete the story.
2.Ask two volunteers to read for the class.
3.Ask Ss Why could nobody or nothing make the old man laugh?
4.Explain some difficult notes for the Ss
